See why Viking Nordic was voted #1 in Vermont!

We are just minutes from Stratton, Bromley, Okemo and Magic Mountains. Viking Nordic's wooded trails gently roll through classic Vermont countryside - beaver ponds, meadows and scenic overlooks.

Viking aims to be Number One with kids!

We put in extra effort to be sure kids have a great time at Viking.  Our cookie card game rewards kids with something near and dear to their hearts and stomachs – cookies! -- for skiing to 5 snowflake stations on our trail network. It is a great way to encourage kids to ski more.

And our terrain park is built just for kids, with a Viking ship, various fun 8 foot tall friendly beasts, and mounds of snow for the kids to play with while Mom and Dad relax on our giant South-facing and sun-catching deck.  We stock plenty of small sized rental skis and snowshoes as well as rent and sell pulks if you’d rather pull your little one.  If your child is just learning we offer lessons and tailor them specifically to the child’s ability.

Does your child want to race?

Viking has been hosting Bill Koch Youth Ski League (BKL) for more than the past 25 years. Our local team, West River Nordic, skis at the Viking Nordic Center on Friday afternoons. In late January we host a very popular Friday night BKL race.

Open to any BKL skier, with a class for J1 8th grade skiers too.  Come bring your cow bell and your child or come just to see and support the kids. With Southern Vermont's tradition of producing Olympic team members you might be seeing a future USA xc skiing star.

New resting hut out on the trails!

New this year we built an 8x12 cabin in a meadow just off the trail at the South end of Roundabout.  It’s a great place to stop for a break as you head out to or back from the Beaver Ponds.

And if the weather is sunny and you want a longer view of our lovely Vermont hills, a ½ mile above the cabin is a great picnic spot with scenic views off the south end of Roundabout. Follow the trail up a gradual hill to the clearing. When you're done eating enjoy the easy coast back down to the trail.

Purchase a PulkCome enjoy out kid's play park, right near our huge sundeck so mom and dad can take a break and watch the kids have fun.
